Quality assurance

We have been BRC (British Retail Consortium) accredited for over 15 years at higher level and have a full and comprehensive quality management system together with HACCP (Hazard analysis Critical Control Point) in place throughout our plant.   

At BHJ, we only use approved sources for our raw material and we also demand all our suppliers are EEC approved.

Our enclosed and fully automated cooking line ensures our products are microbiologically safe. All of our products are tested in a UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) accredited lab to ensure that our end products meet our exceptionally high quality standards at all times.

We are proud to remain the only producer to offer BQAP accredited DRINDE® – made from 100 per cent British pork - which also meets the Red Tractor Farm Assured criteria for manufacturers looking to offer ‘Quality British Food’. 

Our proven manufacturing process ensures that our proteins are:
• analytically consistent
• microbiologically stable and
• ambient stable.

We remain committed to the ongoing training and development of all our staff and have held the "Investors in People" award since 1997. All of our staff have achieved Basic Food Hygiene Certification as a minimum. 

As a member of SEDEX (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange), we are committed to continuously improving the ethical performance of our supply chain.  

We are also active members of Campden BRI, SOFHT and BMPA.
